Armenia is not ready to repatriate its citizens, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan said at a meeting in the Armenian parliament, according to Rusarminfo.
According to Sinanyan, now Armenia is not ready for mass repatriation from the diaspora.
“Let's be honest, if this happens because of the pandemic, we are not ready for this. If people return to Armenia, would we cope with it?” Sinanyan said.
The High Commissioner said that before working on the repatriation, it is necessary to find out whether Armenia would be able to provide the repatriates with necessary conditions and jobs.
