Latvian President pays respect to National Leader Heydar Aliyev
The 27th Council of Foreign Ministers of the 57 OSCE participating states has begun. The conference is held under the chairmanship of Albania, Report says.
The two-day meeting was originally scheduled in the Albanian capital of Tirana. Due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, for the first time, the Ministers will convene through video teleconferencing (VTC).
The OSCE Chairperson-in-office, Prime Minister and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania Edi Ramas opened the event and spoke about the organization's challenges in the OSCE area.
The Ministerial Council is the central decision-making and governing body of the OSCE. The meeting, held annually, provides the Foreign Ministers of the 57 OSCE participating states an opportunity to review and assess the organization's activities and strengthen the dialogue on security issues in the OSCE area.
