Iran begins human trial of new Covid vaccine

Iran has announced the start of human trials of a self-developed coronavirus vaccine, Report says, citing Fars News Agency.

"Human trials of a domestically developed coronavirus vaccine have begun," said the country's Food and Drug Organization spokesperson, Kianoush Jahanpour. "It will be tested on volunteers within a month."

According to him, the vaccine will be administered in two doses to volunteers aged 18 to 50 years with negative coronavirus test results. "After the injections, they will have their antibody and immune levels checked," Jahanpour said.

Earlier, Iranian health Minister Saeed Namaki expressed hope that the domestic coronavirus vaccine will be ready for production on an industrial scale by the spring of next year.
