Defense Ministry: Azerbaijani Army did not violate ceasefire regime

Azerbaijan Defense Ministry has categorically denied the information spread today by the Armenian media that the Azerbaijan Armed Forces allegedly violated the ceasefire due to which a serviceman of the Armenian occupation contingent Vardan Vachaganovich Kirakosyan (born 2000) was wounded.

Report informs referring to the Ministry of Defense.

"The Azerbaijan Army strictly adheres to the Trilateral Statement signed on November 10, 2020. There was no ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijan Army."

Today Azerbaijan starts vaccination against coronavirus

Azerbaijan starts vaccination against COVID-19 infection today.

Report informs that vaccination will be voluntary and state-funded.

The country has received 4 million doses of Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine for 2 million people.

The vaccine will be given to a person in two doses. The interval between doses is 21 days.

At the initial stage, only public hospitals will carry out a vaccination process.

The vaccine will be stored in storage facilities under the "cold chain" conditions.

In the first stage in Azerbaijan, people at high risk will be vaccinated. The high-risk populations covered by COVID-19 vaccination are:

Stage 1 – Health workers; Persons over 65 years of age;

Staff involved in anti-epidemic measures by law enforcement agencies;

Stage 2 – Medically high-risk group (those with chronic diseases of the respiratory system, hemodialysis, diabetes, obesity);

– Persons aged 50 years and older who have at least one chronic disease;

-Employees working in the education and social sector, ASAN Service and DOST centers, permanent residents of social enterprises, persons working in the public transport sector, telecommunications operators and providers, and employees, who are in direct contact with the population in the postal and the banking sector; –

People in high-risk jobs (working in areas vital to society – national and regional security, justice, finance, etc.).

Global Covid cases exceed 95 mln

The number of coronavirus cases confirmed all over the world has surpassed 95 million, while the global COVID-19 death toll stands at over two million, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University's Coronavirus Resource Center.

As of 06:45 Moscow time on Monday (03:45 GMT), there are 95,003,533 confirmed coronavirus cases in the world. The global death toll from COVID-19 stands at 2,029,938. The number of recovered individuals stands at 52,269,644.

The United States, India, and Brazil remain the top three countries in terms of the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases. Russia comes fourth.
The US has registered 23,928,643 COVID-19 cases and has the largest COVID-19 death toll of all the countries in the world (397,500).
