Scars on palms may be symptom of fatal disease

Scars, bumps on the palms, and itching can be the first symptoms of cancer, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.

About 90 percent of cases of scarring of the palms are associated with internal malignant neoplasms, Express reports referring to oncologists. This manifestation is quite rare and often occurs before cancer is diagnosed.

The presence of scars with black acanthosis indicates papillary and pigmentary dystrophy of the skin. This symptom is diagnosed with stomach cancer in 35 percent of cases and lung cancer in 11 percent of cases.

When tissue changes without pigmentation, lung cancer is often found. Sometimes these scars signal malignant neoplasms on the head or in the urinary tract.
