Azerbaijan’s State Tax Service talks financial support to COVID-affected entrepreneurs

The State Tax Service of Azerbaijan provided financial support worth 246 million manat ($144.7 million) to employees in the country’s districts affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Acting Head of the service Orhan Nazarli said, Trend reports.

Nazarli made the speech at an online conference on the topic ‘Tax system in the post-pandemic period’.

According to Nazarli, financial support to private (micro) entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic amounted to 112.2 million manat ($66 million).

“Providing support to entrepreneurs is aimed at reducing their financial losses, improving their financial situation, and preserving jobs. Within the framework of the 1st stage of payment of a certain part of the wages, financial support was provided to 217,500 employees, the second stage – 243,300 employees, the third stage (in 10 districts of the country) – 9,300 employees, 4th stage – 174,300 employees,” said Nazarli.

The event is being attended by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Acting Head of the State Tax Service Orkhan Nazarli, MPs, experts, and entrepreneurs.

Rainless weather expected in Baku

Changeable cloudy and mainly rainless weather is expected in Baku on April 20. Mild south-east wind will blow.

The temperature will be +11-14 °C at night, +19-24 °C in the daytime on Absheron peninsula, the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported.

In Baku, the temperature will be +11-13 °C at night, +19-21 °C in the daytime.

Atmospheric pressure will drop 761 mm Hg to 758 mm Hg. Relative humidity will make 70-80 percent at night and 50-55 percent in the daytime.

The weather will be mostly rainless in the regions. However, short rain is expected in some mountainous areas. Mild west wind will blow.

The temperature will be +12-17 °C at night and +25-30 °C in the daytime, +7-12 °C in the mountains at night, +15-20 °C in the daytime.

The day is expected to be favorable for weather-sensitive people.

Visit of Israeli journalists to Aghdam ends

A trip of Israeli journalists to Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district ended, Trend's Karabakh bureau reports on April 19.

Israel Hayom correspondent Dean Shmuel Elmas and political analyst for The Jerusalem Post and The Jewish Press Arye Gut took part in it.

Israeli journalists visited the Juma Mosque in Aghdam, the ruins of the Drama Theater and witnessed the consequences of Armenian vandalism in the Museum of Bread and on the territory called "Imaret".

The journalists’ trip to Fuzuli, Zangilan, and Gubadli is scheduled for April 20.

Israel Hayom newspaper reporter saddened by destroyed mosque in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam

It is very sad to see that mosque [in Aghdam] has been damaged, destroyed during the occupation Azerbaijani territories, Israel Hayom correspondent Dean Shmuel told Trend.

Shmuel made the statement during the trip of Israeli journalists to Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district began on April 19.

Shmuel said what was done to Aghdam's mosque, it is a sad fact, regardless of whether you are Jewish, Christian or Muslim.

Shmuel also added that the main challenge for Azerbaijan now is the restoration work that will be carried out from now on.

Following over a month of military action to liberate its territories from Armenian occupation from late Sept. to early Nov. 2020, Azerbaijan pushed Armenia to sign the surrender document. A joint statement on the matter was made by the Azerbaijani president, Armenia's PM, and the president of Russia.

A complete ceasefire and a cessation of all hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was introduced on Nov. 10, 2020.
