Issues related to demining process in liberated lands discussed in Azerbaijan

A meeting of the working group on clearing of mines and unexploded ordnance of the Interdepartmental Center under the Coordination Headquarters, created by the Azerbaijani president for resolving the issues in the liberated Azerbaijani territories, was held, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov, who was present at the meeting, told Trend.

Suleymanov spoke in detail about the work being carried out by ANAMA, guided by the instructions of the president.

Along with the relevant structures that are members of the working group, senior officials of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, Azerenergy OJSC, Azerishig OJSC, implementing infrastructure projects in the liberated Azerbaijani territories, attended the meeting.

Representatives of ANAMA, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, cleaning up the liberated territories from mines and unexploded ordnance, gave the detailed information on the process of ongoing and planned work in connection with the priority projects, as well as about the construction of railway and highways, construction of communication lines and construction of Fuzuli airport.

The ongoing work in this sphere must always be carried out in close coordination within the working group.

The need for enlightenment, preventive propaganda about the danger of mines and unexploded ordnance, which is one of the main criteria for demining activity and joint cooperation of state structures in this sphere were stressed at the meeting of the working group.

Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Samir Nuriyev heads the Coordination Headquarters, created upon the order of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 24, 2020.

Rainless weather expected in Baku

Changeable cloudy and mainly rainless weather is expected in Baku on April 20. Mild south-east wind will blow.

The temperature will be +11-14 °C at night, +19-24 °C in the daytime on Absheron peninsula, the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported.

In Baku, the temperature will be +11-13 °C at night, +19-21 °C in the daytime.

Atmospheric pressure will drop 761 mm Hg to 758 mm Hg. Relative humidity will make 70-80 percent at night and 50-55 percent in the daytime.

The weather will be mostly rainless in the regions. However, short rain is expected in some mountainous areas. Mild west wind will blow.

The temperature will be +12-17 °C at night and +25-30 °C in the daytime, +7-12 °C in the mountains at night, +15-20 °C in the daytime.

The day is expected to be favorable for weather-sensitive people.

Visit of Israeli journalists to Aghdam ends

A trip of Israeli journalists to Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district ended, Trend's Karabakh bureau reports on April 19.

Israel Hayom correspondent Dean Shmuel Elmas and political analyst for The Jerusalem Post and The Jewish Press Arye Gut took part in it.

Israeli journalists visited the Juma Mosque in Aghdam, the ruins of the Drama Theater and witnessed the consequences of Armenian vandalism in the Museum of Bread and on the territory called "Imaret".

The journalists’ trip to Fuzuli, Zangilan, and Gubadli is scheduled for April 20.

Israel Hayom newspaper reporter saddened by destroyed mosque in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam

It is very sad to see that mosque [in Aghdam] has been damaged, destroyed during the occupation Azerbaijani territories, Israel Hayom correspondent Dean Shmuel told Trend.

Shmuel made the statement during the trip of Israeli journalists to Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district began on April 19.

Shmuel said what was done to Aghdam's mosque, it is a sad fact, regardless of whether you are Jewish, Christian or Muslim.

Shmuel also added that the main challenge for Azerbaijan now is the restoration work that will be carried out from now on.

Following over a month of military action to liberate its territories from Armenian occupation from late Sept. to early Nov. 2020, Azerbaijan pushed Armenia to sign the surrender document. A joint statement on the matter was made by the Azerbaijani president, Armenia's PM, and the president of Russia.

A complete ceasefire and a cessation of all hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was introduced on Nov. 10, 2020.
