Plane crashes into street in Broward, killing two aboard

A single-engine plane with two people inside crashed nose-first into an SUV carrying an adult and child in Pembroke Pines Monday afternoon, before skidding on the street and bursting into flames, video shows.

The fiery wreck left the pilot and passenger dead and the adult and child in the SUV seriously injured, according to Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue. The child later died from his injuries, and fire rescue confirmed late Monday evening.

It was not immediately clear what caused the Beechcraft Bonanza to go down shortly after taking off Monday around 3 p.m. from North Perry Airport. Pembroke Pines Fire Chief Marcel Rodriguez told the Sun-Sentinel that a mechanical problem might have caused the plane to clip a power line.
