Latvian President pays respect to National Leader Heydar AliyevMore than 20 leaders from around the world, governments, and global organizations have supported the idea of signing an international agreement in the near future to combat the pandemic, Report informs, citing the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Proponents of the initiative include French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and others.
The sides expressed confidence that countries should work together to prepare for and combat the pandemic.
"This new collective commitment will be an important step towards resolving the pandemic at the highest level," the publication said.
The agreement will cover the intensification of international cooperation for the exchange of information, research, improving the quality of warning systems, as well as the implementation and dissemination of measures in the field of health and public health.
