Latvian President pays respect to National Leader Heydar Aliyev
The Georgian Parliament has failed to hold the election of the chairman to the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the second time.
According to the local bureau of the Report, both candidates could not get enough votes.
Giorgi Kalandarishvili received 83 votes instead of the required 100, and Giorgi Santuriani received only four votes.
After the failure to approve the chairman for five years, the legislature should vote on the issue of electing the chairman for a term of six months.
Parliament has the right to vote for candidates four times.
Notably, former CEC chairman Tamar Zhvania resigned on June 30.
