Iran’s new president swears in

Iran's newly-elected President Ebrahim Raisi has today taken office, Report informs, citing Mehr Agency.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani, Chief Justice of Iran Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'I, Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, senior adviser to the Supreme Leader in international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati, former secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, former MPs Alireza Zakani, Mohsen Mehralizadeh, former Governor of the Central Bank Abdolnaser Hemmati, commanders of Armed Forces and other officials attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Ebrahim Raisi has been elected Iran's new President with more than 61.95 percent of the vote. The voter turnout was estimated at 48.8%.
