Latvian President pays respect to National Leader Heydar AliyevIn January-July 2021, Turkmenistan produced 48.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 9 billion cubic meters more than in the same period in 2020, Report informs.
Since the beginning of the year, Turkmenistan has exported 27 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 7.3 billion cubic meters more than in the seven months of 2020.
The bulk of natural gas was exported to China, which is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan in the oil and gas sector.
Turkmenistan is actively working to diversify the supply of gas and petrochemical products. Following the August 6 summit of the heads of state of Central Asia, it was announced that Ashgabat intends to increase the supply of natural gas to Central Asia and to foreign markets.
At the top-level talks, agreements were reached on the supply of Turkmen gas to Kyrgyzstan and the strengthening of gas cooperation with Tajikistan. The successful implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project continues.
