Spain detects new COVID outbreak on mink farm

A new COVID outbreak has been detected at a wild American mink farm in Spain, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

This is the eleventh outbreak in the Autonomous Community of Galicia alone since the beginning of the epidemic.

The new outbreak was discovered on a farm located in the municipality of Abegondo (La Coruna), where 8,700 animals live. The disease was detected in three animals as part of a special program of the Ministry of Agriculture to control the spread of COVID-19 on mink farms.

The farm was closed, and the veterinarians will conduct increased control over the condition of the animals.

In total, there are 25 mink breeding farms in Galicia, where 71,500 animals are registered.
