Erdogan: “With goals of 2023, we’ll take Turkey to development it deserves”

“With our goals of 2023, we’ll take Turkey to the development it deserves,” President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the event held in Bitlis on the 950th anniversary of the Victory of Malazgirt.

“With our goals of 2023, we will bring our country to the level of development and democracy it deserves. We are doing our best. With our goals of 2053 and 2071, we leave to the youths the task of bringing Turkey to the forefront among the strongest countries in the world in all areas,” he said.

The President called historical tombs in Ahlat town of Bitlis province the Orkhon-Yenisei monuments of Turkey.

The Battle of Malazgirt was fought between the Byzantine Empire and the Seljuk Empire on 26 August 1071 in Malazgirt, Muş Province, Turkey. Sultan of Seljuk Empire Alp Arslan defeated Emperor of the Byzantine Empire Romanos IV Diogenes. This victory led to the Turks’ dominance in Anatolia and Central Asia.
