Measures taken to prevent pollution of Okhchuchay river by Armenia

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and other relevant structures have begun work to reduce pollution of Okhchuchay by Armenia, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov said.

Report informs that, according to him, it is crucial to clean rivers from pollution: "Because it is the responsibility of the state to provide clean water to the population returning to the liberated territories."

Karimov said there are four rivers in Azerbaijan that flow through the territory of Armenia: "These are Bargushad, Okhchuchay, Basitchay and Araz. The Araz River flows through the territory of Iran and Armenia. For the pollution level, the condition of the Okhchuchay is worst among all these rivers."
