Within his official visit to Latvia, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with H.E. Mr. Egils Levits, President of the Republic of Latvia.

At the meeting, Elmar Mammadyarov conveyed the sincere greetings of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E Mr. Ilham Aliyev to H.E. Mr. Egils Levits, President of the Republic of Latvia. The Latvian President also asked to convey his greetings and the most sincere wishes to H.E Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides noted the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia and discussed the development perspectives of cooperation between the two countries.
The sides also exchanged their views on the current issues of international agenda, as well as the situations in the relevant regions. In this context, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov informed the Latvian President H.E. Mr. Egils Levits about the latest situation of the negotiation process on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
President Egils Levits stressed the importance of ensuring the principle of territorial integrity of states and noted that his country always supports the resolution of the conflicts based on this principle.
At the meeting, bilateral and multilateral relations between Latvia and Azerbaijan, the perspectives of cooperation between our countries within the Eastern Partnership, as well as cooperation within the framework of international organizations between the two countries were also discussed.
The sides also exchanged views on the development of regional transport corridors, energy projects and the possibility of expanding bilateral economic relations.
After the meeting, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov signed the Guest Book.

Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Ahmadov and Ukrainian Prime Minister Alexei Goncharuk have met today in Kyiv within the framework of the meeting of the heads of government of the GUAM member states.

The sides discussed perspectives of bilateral relations and cooperation within international organizations, including GUAM, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.

Touching upon the official visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Azerbaijan, Goncharuk said that the visit would be a new stage in the development of cooperation between the two countries. Stressing the rapidly developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in all fields today, the Prime Minister expressed his confidence that economic relations would continue to grow.

Currently prepping to direct his untitled Elvis Presley project at Warner Bros. Pictures, filmmaker Baz Luhrmann is already lining up his next effort – securing the film rights to Mikhail Bulgakov’s cult Russian novel “The Master and Margarita”, Dark Horizon reports.

A passion project for Luhrmann who is eyeing it as a possible directorial vehicle, the work is considered one of the masterpieces of the 20th century – a space and time-spanning love story with elements of Faust and the Crucifixion mixed into a devastating satire of Soviet society.

Written in the darkest period of Stalin’s regime and banned in the author’s lifetime, a censored edition was finally published in 1960 and became a worldwide literary phenomenon – selling over 100 million copies worldwide.

Natalia Rogal, Svetlana Migunova-Dali and Grace Loh will produce. The film comes as Luhrmann’s Broadway musical based on his “Moulin Rouge” has become the biggest Broadway hit in years – grossing more than $2 million per week. Luhrmann’s Elvis project begins production in February in Australia.
