Global COVID-19 cases surpass 150 million

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has surpassed 150 million along with over 3 million deaths and more than 87 million recoveries, Report says, citing the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.

WHO statistics take into account only officially confirmed information about infected and deceased persons provided by States.

Basing only officially confirmed information about infected and deceased persons provided by states, on April 30, WHO received information about 150,110,310 people infected with the coronavirus and 3,158,792 deaths from complications of the infection. The number of infected people increased by 878,386, deaths by 14,572.

More than 45% of cases of infection over the past day fall to the share of the South-East Asia, which also includes India (402,972), in second place – North and South America (223,217), in third – Europe (180,677).

The United States has the most confirmed cases with 31,889,171, followed by India (18,762,976), Brazil (14,521,289), France (5,505,700), Russia (4,805,288), Turkey (4,788,700), the United Kingdom (4,414,246), Italy (4,009,208), Spain (3,514,942), Germany (3,381,597), Argentina (2,928,890), and Colombia (2,824,626).
