“During a conversation with Raisi, Macron pointed out the need to develop and deepen cooperation between Iran and France and stated the need to reconsider relations between the two countries,” the statement said. “It is necessary to reapply efforts based on new approaches in relations between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural spheres, as well as in the field of regional cooperation.”
In turn, the Iranian politician “welcomed the proposal of the French president to reconsider bilateral relations and start a new chapter.” “The Iranian government is in favor of developing cooperation with France in the trade and economic plane and is ready to start comprehensive cooperation with Europe from the French side,” the Iranian politician said.
In addition, the French president, speaking about the nuclear issue, expressed the hope that the talks in Vienna will resume in the presence of Iran. “We are not against fruitful negotiations, but their result should be the lifting of sanctions against Tehran. Negotiations just for the sake of negotiations do not make sense,” Raisi replied.
