The US and Turkish presidents discussed diplomatic efforts in the Caucasus, Syria, Libya, and the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean.
President Biden reaffirmed the US-Turkey partnership in defense and Turkey's importance as a NATO ally. Biden stressed the desire to continue constructive relations, expand areas of cooperation and effectively resolve disagreements.
The meeting lasted about an hour and 10 minutes.

The presidents, who met at the G20 summit in Rome, greeted each other in front of the cameras and headed for the meeting room.
Answering an American journalist's question if he was planning to give F-16s to Turkey, Biden said he was planning to have a good meeting.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is also taking part in the meeting held behind closed doors.
Earlier, Erdogan said that the main topic of the forthcoming talks with Joe Biden would be Turkey's participation in the development of the fifth-generation F-35 aircraft.
The leaders of Turkey and the United States last met in June in Brussels on the sidelines of a NATO summit.
