Russia made a gesture of goodwill when it withdrew troops from positions in northern Ukraine to create positive conditions for talks between Moscow and Kyiv, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with the LCI TV channel, Report informs citing TASS.
“We decided to take this step as a gesture of goodwill to create favorable conditions for negotiations. We can make serious decisions during the negotiations, and therefore President [of Russia Vladimir] Putin ordered the withdrawal of troops from the region,” Peskov noted.
He categorically denied accusations from Kyiv against the Russian military in the murder of civilians in Bucha city in the Kyiv region.
