Israel is opposed to a deal on the Iranian nuclear program and reserves the right to take diplomatic and operational action against Tehran in connection with its development of nuclear weapons, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said on Sunday at the weekly government meeting.
He noted that he brought this position of Israel to the attention of US President Joe Biden, who was on a visit to the Jewish state from July 13 to 15.
"During the visit, I made it clear to the president (Biden) and his team that Israel opposes the nuclear deal and reserves the right to complete freedom of diplomatic and operational action against the Iranian nuclear program," Lapid said, as quoted by the government office.
He called Biden's visit to Israel historic and stressed that the arrival of the US president brought "achievements in the areas of diplomacy, security and economics that will strengthen the State of Israel for years to come."
"Today, the (Israeli) government will receive a full report on the president's visit," the prime minister added.
