The purchase price for Russian gas for Moldova in November will be $821 per thousand cubic meters, down $210 from October, head of Moldovagaz JSC Vadim Cheban said.
Report informs citing the Russian media that the cost of the resource in October reached $1,031 per thousand cubic meters.
"Gazprom PJSC confirmed the November volumes of natural gas supplies to Moldova at the rate of 5.7 million cubic meters per day. The preliminary cost of the energy carrier will be $821 per thousand cubic meters for Moldovagaz," Cheban wrote in Telegram.
According to him, consumption in November is at the level of 115-120 million cubic meters. In this case, 41 million cubic meters needed by Thermoelectric and some industrial enterprises will be replaced with fuel oil, and the remaining 77 million cubic meters will be covered by supplies from Gazprom (54 million cubic meters) and purchases on the free market and/or from the state enterprise Energocom (23 million cubic meters).
In October 2021, the Moldovan authorities agreed with Gazprom to extend the contract for the gas supply to the country, subject to an audit of Moldovagaz's debt in 2022.
Later, Gazprom announced that it reserves the right to completely stop gas supplies to Moldova if the country violates its payment obligations by October 20, as well as due to a gross violation of the deadlines for concluding an agreement to settle the historical debt of Moldovagaz.
