At the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) in Tokyo, Japan, Turkiye's membership application to the organization was unanimously approved, Report informs, citing the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
GPAI is a many-sided initiative that aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the field by supporting the latest research and practice on AI priorities. The institution complies with the artificial intelligence recommendations of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which are based on human-centered values and promote the safe, responsible and sustainable use of artificial intelligence to advance international cooperation.
This internationally important institution brings together environmental expertise between science, industry, civil society, governments, international organizations, and academia. As a founding member of the OECD, a NATO ally, and a member of the G20 with a rapidly developing artificial intelligence ecosystem, Turkiye actively contributes to international cooperation in this field.
