Environmental crimes committed by Armenians in Karabakh must remain on the agenda, Head of the Center of Analysis of International Relations Farid Shafiyev said a press conference on the results of 2022.
He noted that the main issues on the agenda are the delimitation of borders and the signing of a final peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan: "Armenia is trying to keep the Karabakh issue on the agenda, and is making every effort for this. There is our destroyed heritage in Armenia."
Commenting on the protest action on the Khankandi-Lachin road against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, Shafiyev said that two years ago they prepared a report on environmental problems in Karabakh: "However, then it was forgotten. These issues must be kept on agenda."
Shafiyev noted that an updated form of this report was prepared last year: "Azerbaijan has regularly raised this issue. That is, environmental crimes in Karabakh are not a new problem."
