"If Russia were truly serious about peace, about ending this war, it would withdraw its forces from the sovereign territory of Ukraine," the US State Department spokesperson Ned Price told reporters, Report informs.
According to him, the Russians seek to use any temporary pause in fighting to rest, refit, regroup, and ultimately re-attack.
The spokesperson recalled that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken predicted a few weeks ago that Russia would use the break to rearm, regroup, and reattack: "We are sure that Russia's current statement cannot be regarded as a ceasefire."
