During the attack on the embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran, the Iranian police did not take any steps to neutralize the terrorist, Aykhan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a briefing for journalists, Report informs.
He noted that despite the terrorist's repeated attempts to enter the Azerbaijani embassy, the Iranian police did not prevent this terrorist act:
"When the terrorist, armed with a machine gun, a pistol, and a Molotov cocktail, saw that his attempt was not successful, he tried to achieve his goal by shooting at the windows of the apartments on the floor where the family members of the embassy staff were located. Then he tried to set our embassy's car on fire. Later, an unknown person took different things from the vehicle used by the terrorist and left. These factors again prove that this incident was a deliberate terrorist act."
