Romania hosts NATO drills

Around 600 French troops and 200 pieces of equipment take part in Eagle Meda 23 firing drills at the ground forces' auxiliary combat training center in the village of Smârdan in eastern Romania, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense said, Report informs via TASS.

The exercises started on January 23 and will last until January 27.

The main goal of the exercises is to develop the ability of the personnel of the combat group to quickly move and perform combat missions according to a made-up scenario as part of NATO's Collective Defense operation, carried out on the southeastern flank of the alliance.
