The ministry said on Saturday that only 12 oxygen stations remain operational, and those facilities are operating under “extremely complex technical and mechanical conditions,” Anadolu Agency reported.
Their capacity has been stretched beyond maximum levels, while frequent breakdowns are making it increasingly difficult to supply medical facilities and patients with the oxygen they need.

Only four of the 30 devices used to fill oxygen cylinders are still working, the ministry said, warning that the remaining equipment could stop operating at any time because technical teams lack the spare parts needed for emergency repairs.
“The availability of oxygen is not a medical luxury; it is a lifeline for many vital and life-saving departments,” the ministry said.
It warned that a complete shutdown of the remaining oxygen stations could disrupt supplies to hospitals and patients receiving treatment at home.
The ministry called for immediate channels to be opened to allow spare parts, technical equipment and new oxygen stations to enter Gaza.
The warning comes amid continued restrictions on the entry of equipment and supplies into the enclave.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said on August 12 that Israeli authorities were continuing to restrict the entry of engine oil and spare parts needed to operate hospital generators, ambulances and other essential infrastructure.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in its latest report that the Kerem Shalom crossing remains the only operational entry point for goods entering Gaza, while restrictions continue to affect various essential supplies and types of equipment.
World Health Organization data published on August 11, covering conditions through July 31, also showed major shortages in health resources and services across Gaza’s medical facilities.
The oxygen shortage adds another strain to Gaza’s healthcare system, which has suffered extensive damage to hospitals, medical infrastructure and other essential facilities during the war.
A ceasefire has been in place in Gaza since October 10, 2025, following the conflict that severely damaged the enclave’s health system and infrastructure.
