According to Dan, the drone was brought down about 10 kilometers west of Sfântu Gheorghe in central Romania, News.Az reports, citing Xinhua.
Romania’s Ministry of National Defense said its radar surveillance systems detected an unauthorized drone entering the country’s airspace and flying near the border with Ukraine.

“Two F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the Romanian Air Force intercepted the air target and executed standard identification and neutralization procedures. The drone was safely shot down in an unpopulated area near the border,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that the drone was shot down by the same pilot who destroyed a Shahed drone in Buzău County on Friday.
