In Karaj, Sajjad Shirzadi, 34, was executed at the Central Penitentiary on 25 August after being sentenced to death for murder. Farshad Safari, around 40, was executed there on 19 August, also following a murder conviction, HRANA reported.
Mahmoud Talebi, 44, and Seyed Hossein Hesari, 35, were executed at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad on 23 August after being sentenced to death in separate murder cases.

At Semnan Central Prison, Hamed Emami, 39, and Mohammad Ali Kaffashi, 42, were executed on 23 August after being sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Court in a joint case involving drug-related charges. Their families were reportedly not notified of the executions and were not allowed final visits.
Faramarz Baghbani, 46, was executed at Borujerd Prison on 18 August after being sentenced to death for drug-related offences, including possession of nine kilograms of heroin.
Lotfollah Ahmadvand, 38, was executed at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan on 19 August following a drug-related conviction. Four other prisoners — Mohsen Darabi, Abdolbaset Barahouei, Omidreza Ghanbarian and Amir Farhadi — were also executed at Dastgerd that day, according to HRANA.
Haal Vsh separately reported that Saleh Zeidabadi, around 42, and his 31-year-old nephew, Merat Zeidabadi, were executed at a prison in Isfahan on 24 August. The two men, from Kerman province’s Fahraj County, had been arrested in 2021 on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death.
On 25 August, Zahra Azizpour, around 43, was executed at Lakan Prison in Rasht after being sentenced to death for murdering her husband, according to HRANA.
In a separate case, Bahram (Ghahreman) Keshavarzi, a resident of Beyza County, was executed at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz on 24 August. HRANA said he had been arrested in a non-political case involving drug-related offences and later sentenced to death. His execution had not been officially announced by prison authorities or other relevant institutions at the time of the report.
The executions reported by HRANA and other rights groups have not been officially announced by Iranian authorities.
Separately, HRANA reported that Amir Mohammad Mojallal Chubari, 22, who was arrested during nationwide protests on 2 January 2026, has been sentenced to death. He is facing charges including assembly and collusion against national security, disrupting public order through participation in riots, attempted intentional murder by trying to run over security officers, and resisting officers. He is being held at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and had no previous criminal record, according to HRANA.
According to the Human Rights Activists in Iran’s annual report, at least 2,063 people, including 61 women and two juvenile offenders, were executed in Iran in 2025. Of those, 11 were executed in public, while 172 other people were sentenced to death.
