The agreement, reached after talks that began in 2025, was signed in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkiye Today reported.

The airline said the deal is intended to reinforce its short- and medium-haul flight network and support its long-term fleet growth strategy.
The order includes 100 firm Boeing 737-8 jets, with an option for 50 additional 737 MAX aircraft. The agreement also gives Turkish Airlines the ability to shift some of the order toward the Boeing 737-10, the largest variant in the 737 MAX family, a provision the airline said would let it adjust fleet capacity more flexibly according to passenger demand and operational needs across its network.
Turkish Airlines said the new jets are expected to strengthen short- and medium-haul operations on both domestic and international routes where demand is particularly high.
The airline cited the 737-8’s range and payload advantages, along with a fuel consumption and emissions reduction of about 20 percent, as factors that would help it meet operational needs while expanding its fleet and network.
Turkish Airlines and its low-cost affiliate AJet currently operate more than 200 Boeing aircraft, including 737 MAX, 737 Next-Generation, 787 Dreamliner, 777 and 777 Freighter models. The new order follows a purchase of 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners placed in 2025, further extending the airline’s longstanding relationship with Boeing.
