According to Report, citing the Ministry of Agriculture, the delegation included Parviz Yusifov, Head of the Crop Production Organization and Monitoring Department, and senior advisers Izzat Talibov and Zaur Abbasov.
During visits to Korla and Changsha, the delegation studied modern cultivation technologies, automated harvesting, seed production and innovative processing methods.
In Korla, located in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, the delegation met with the management of Xinjiang Seed Industry Co., Ltd. The sides discussed the application of modern technologies in cotton growing, development of new varieties, irrigation systems and automation of harvesting.
The delegation also visited the company’s cotton fields and demonstration plots for new varieties. They were briefed on modern cultivation and irrigation technologies, crop development and productivity indicators.
It was noted that genetically modified cotton varieties resistant to pests and diseases are widely used in the region. Drip irrigation systems are applied in the fields, while harvesting is carried out using modern cotton harvesters.
Mechanization of cotton harvesting and collection helps increase labor productivity and optimize the production process.
The delegation also studied China’s experience in the efficient use of land and water resources, modern agricultural practices, high-yield varieties and optimization of production costs.
In Changsha, Hunan Province, the delegation visited Longping High-Tech Park, where it reviewed work on seed production, development of new varieties, molecular breeding and genetic research, production of hybrid rice, corn and vegetable seeds, digital agriculture and smart farming, as well as agrochemical products and plant nutrition.
Meetings were also held with company executives and agricultural specialists. The delegation visited rice fields and demonstration plots for new varieties and exchanged views on innovative breeding and seed-production technologies.
The ministry noted that studying China’s experience is important for expanding the use of modern technologies in agriculture, increasing productivity, using water and other resources more efficiently, developing seed production and introducing innovative approaches.
