The agreement brings together opposition figures from several parties with differing political positions as they prepare for the Oct. 27 vote, Anadolu Agency reported.
In his first response to the agreement, Netanyahu claimed that Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot would seek to form a government with Yair Lapid, Yair Golan, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman and Arab parties.

“Only a strong Likud will stop them,” Netanyahu wrote on X, referring to his Likud party.
Netanyahu also shared an AI-altered version of a photograph from the opposition meeting that added United Arab List leader Mansour Abbas and Hadash-Ta’al leader Ahmad Tibi to the image.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the five opposition leaders met at Lapid’s home in Tel Aviv to coordinate their strategy ahead of the election.
The meeting included Lapid of Yesh Atid, Eisenkot of Yashar, Bennett of Together, Lieberman of Yisrael Beiteinu and Golan of the Democrats.
In a joint document released after the meeting, the five leaders described replacing the current government as their “shared highest objective,” despite their political and ideological differences.
They also pledged not to campaign against one another before a new government is formed and agreed to work to increase voter turnout and expand support for the opposition.
The leaders did not, however, reach an agreement on who should be their candidate for prime minister.
