The ninth edition of the Pakistan-Russia joint exercise Druzhba-IX and the second edition of the Pakistan-Oman exercise Washaq Al Jabal-II (Mountain Lynx-II) began on Tuesday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Today reported.

The two-week exercises bring together contingents of the Pakistan Army, Russian Army and Royal Army of Oman to exchange operational experience, refine counterterrorism drills and procedures, and enhance interoperability among the participating forces.
Through joint training and the exchange of best practices, the troops will work to improve their combat skills and tactical expertise while further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, ISPR said.
The Pakistan Army regularly conducts joint exercises with foreign militaries as part of efforts to improve operational preparedness, counterterrorism capabilities and professional interoperability.
