According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, acting regional governor Ruslan Oliinyk said the region surrounding the Ukrainian capital came under attack in the afternoon, News.Az reports, citing Anadolu Agency.
“The Bucha district was the most affected. There were fatalities and injuries as a result of the enemy attack,” Oliinyk said.

Preliminary information suggests the missile struck the grounds of a private training facility where an event was taking place, although authorities said the circumstances remain under verification.
Emergency crews and rescue teams were deployed to the impact sites, while officials worked to assess the damage and assist victims. Oliinyk later said the attack also damaged 27 private homes and 44 vehicles.
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko confirmed that 10 people were killed and about 100 others sustained injuries of varying severity. He said prosecutors have opened a war crimes investigation into the strike, along with a separate inquiry into the possible improper performance of official duties related to the organization of the event held at the targeted location.
“War does not exempt from responsibility for management decisions. On the contrary, it requires maximum professionalism, caution, and awareness of every step,” Kravchenko said.
The Ukrainian Council of Defense Industry said the missile targeted a site where representatives of Ukraine’s defense industry were present, adding that the exact location of the gathering had not been publicly disclosed and that authorities are investigating the circumstances of the attack.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said rescue operations were ongoing and condemned the strike as an attack on civilians.
“These were brutal attacks on civilians, and the Russians must be held accountable for them. Russia has long abandoned any regard for international norms – and for human values,” Zelenskyy said.
He also renewed calls for additional Western air defense support, saying that interceptors for Patriot air defense systems remain Ukraine’s top priority.
Later Friday, Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched three Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles toward the Kyiv region at around 11:30 a.m. local time. According to the military, one missile was intercepted while the other two struck the Bucha district.
Russian authorities had not immediately commented on the reported strike or Ukraine’s claims.
