The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement was signed in August, before the Houthis’ attacks on Saudi Arabia intensified.
The three members have since held emergency talks — Türkiye’s parliament ratified the pact on Thursday. Turkish officials told Reuters that its contribution would be limited to weapons, equipment, and intelligence. Alliance members also visited Tehran last month to discuss the regional conflict.
