The group’s decision makes Stray Kids the latest major K-pop act to sit out the awards, following BTS, amid debate over a newly introduced category recognizing Asian pop music, Anadolu Agency reported.
“Stray Kids did not submit any work to the Grammys,” JYP Entertainment said Friday, without providing a reason for the decision.

The move comes as the Recording Academy faces criticism over its new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, which will debut at the 69th Grammy Awards in February 2027.
The new category covers music from across Asia, including K-pop, J-pop and C-pop. Eligible recordings must make “meaningful use” of one or more Asian languages.
The Recording Academy said this week that it would proceed with the category after consulting members of the Asian music community.
Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. acknowledged that some members of the community had opposed the new category, but said the organization had also received significant support for introducing it.
BTS announced in July that it would not submit music for consideration at the 2027 Grammys.
The group said at the time that it hoped music could be “heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language.”
The decision by Stray Kids comes despite all eight members being invited earlier this year to become voting members of the Recording Academy.
The 69th Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on Feb. 7, 2027.
