The Boeing 737-800, carrying around 160 passengers, had just taken off from Queenstown when witnesses reported hearing loud noises and seeing flames coming from the aircraft’s left engine, according to video footage shared on social media, Xinhua reported.
The Qantas flight landed safely at Christchurch Airport, and no injuries were reported, the report said.
