The app, unveiled on Friday, is aimed at sellers using Facebook Marketplace, where more than 430 million items are listed globally each month. Meta said the new platform will streamline selling by bringing listings, customer conversations and business management tools into a single app, News.Az reports, citing Reuters.
Originally launched a decade ago, Facebook Marketplace has become one of the company’s largest e-commerce platforms, driven by growing buying and selling activity within Facebook communities. Meta now hopes the new Seller app will strengthen its position against rivals such as eBay by offering a more comprehensive experience for merchants.

The Seller app automatically syncs with existing Facebook Marketplace accounts, allowing users to access their current listings, buyer messages and sales history without starting over.
Among its key features are AI-powered listing creation tools that help sellers generate product listings more quickly, a unified inbox for managing customer conversations, inventory management functions and performance analytics designed to help merchants optimize their sales strategies.
Meta said the Seller app is now available on Apple’s App Store for users in the United States aged 18 and older. A web version is also being tested for users who download the app.
Alongside the new app, Meta announced Facebook Verified, a free verification badge intended to confirm that a profile belongs to a real person. The verification process uses selfie-based identity checks as part of the company’s efforts to improve authenticity and safety across the platform.
The launch follows Meta’s continued expansion of standalone apps tied to Facebook. In May, the company introduced Forum, an app designed specifically for users of Facebook Groups.
The new Seller app reflects Meta’s broader strategy to expand its e-commerce ecosystem by equipping merchants with dedicated AI tools while making buying and selling on Facebook Marketplace more efficient and secure.
