The accident occurred at around 2:20 p.m. at the 21st kilometer of the highway when a Mercedes Atego truck crashed into a metal barrier and overturned after its driver lost control of the vehicle, the department told APA in response to an inquiry, APA reported.
Three people died in the crash, while two others sustained injuries.

An investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.
The Main State Traffic Police Department urged drivers to remain attentive on the road, comply with speed limits and maintain a safe following distance.
It also advised motorists to avoid distractions while driving, check their vehicles’ technical condition before setting out and refrain from driving when tired or sleep-deprived.
