According to Defence24, the victim worked for a Polish defense company but was not a Polish citizen. The ministry confirmed the fatality but did not immediately provide further details about the individual’s identity, News.Az reports, citing RBC-Ukraine.
The death came after Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on the Kyiv region on Friday, causing widespread destruction, particularly in the Bucha district.

Ukrainian authorities said 10 people were killed and around 100 others injured in the strike.
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko said two criminal investigations have been opened following the attack. One concerns alleged war crimes under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, while the second examines possible negligence in the organization and conduct of an event that may have contributed to the loss of life and other serious consequences.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat later said the Russian ballistic missile struck a private sports complex in the Kyiv region, dismissing earlier reports that the target had been a Ukrainian military training ground.
The attack is the latest in a series of Russian strikes on Ukraine as the war continues, with civilian infrastructure and populated areas frequently sustaining heavy damage.
