Explosions were heard near Iran’s Qeshm Island and the Sirik Port area, both strategically important locations overlooking the Strait of Hormuz, News.Az reports, citing Al Jazeera.
According to Iranian state television, at least six explosions were heard on Qeshm Island, the largest island in the Strait of Hormuz.
The island holds significant geostrategic importance due to its role in Iran’s control and oversight of the vital waterway.

The broadcaster also said that at least seven explosions were heard near Sirik Port, another key strategic location that overlooks the Strait of Hormuz and is considered important to Iran’s authority over the maritime passage.
The reported incidents come amid continued limited confrontations and periodic escalation in the Strait of Hormuz following the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU), according to the report.
