Digwa, 23, must now serve at least 25 years in prison, up from the 21-year minimum term imposed by Southampton Crown Court in June, Anadolu Agency reported.
The case was referred to the Court of Appeal by Attorney General Ellie Reeves under the Unduly Lenient Sentence Scheme.

Digwa had also challenged his sentence, arguing that it was “manifestly excessive.” However, the judges rejected his appeal and ruled that the original minimum term was “unduly lenient.”
Nowak was stabbed to death on Dec. 3, 2025.
During the incident, Digwa falsely told police officers who arrived at the scene that he had been the victim of a racist attack and accused Nowak of assaulting him, according to court proceedings.
Police body-worn camera footage showed the injured teenager repeatedly telling officers that he had been stabbed and asking for medical assistance. Officers handcuffed Nowak, who died shortly afterward.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood previously described the killing as “an act of pure evil” and said footage showing officers handcuffing the injured teenager was “a disturbing and tragic thing to see.”
