The headquarters’ spokesman described the US claims as “false” and “lies”, saying the Strait of Hormuz remained under the “full management and control” of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“The baseless claims by the United States about vessels passing normally through the Strait of Hormuz, which show the desperation and helplessness of that country’s army, are nothing but falsehood and lies,” the spokesman said in a statement carried by Fars News Agency.
“It is hereby declared that the Strait of Hormuz remains, as before, under the full management and control of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and no commercial vessel or oil tanker has been and will be able to safely transit this strait without the permission and supervision of Iran’s powerful armed forces.”

The spokesman accused the United States of seeking to “cause mischief and insecurity” in the region and said its threats would have no effect in the face of what he described as the “comprehensive and greater-than-ever readiness” of Iran’s armed forces.
“The United States is constantly seeking to cause mischief and insecurity in the region, and that country’s threats, which lack any basis and foundation, will have no result in the face of the comprehensive and greater-than-ever readiness of the heroic fighters of Islam in the armed forces other than bringing greater misery and helplessness upon them,” he said.
The spokesman said Iran’s armed forces were monitoring “all movements of the American and Zionist enemies” in the region.
He added that the forces would respond to “any threat, at any level and in any form” with a “more crushing and severe response than before”.
