Eleven sailors are missing after a cargo ship sank following a drone attack off Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, while all 15 crew members aboard a second vessel struck in a separate incident were rescued, according to reports published on October 14, MI reported.
Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova identified the sunken vessel as the Guinea-Bissau-flagged HS Dignity. Five crew members were rescued, while the search for the remaining sailors continued on Tuesday, October 13.
The ship sank approximately 15 to 17 nautical miles east of the Bulgarian village of Krapets, near the Romanian border. However, Bulgarian media reports also identified the vessel as the Azov Concord. The ship’s identity, the circumstances of the attack and those responsible had not been conclusively established in the reports.
