The recall, issued by Midwest Poultry Services, affects 1,589,577 cartons of white eggs and brown cage-free eggs produced between June 6 and July 3, 2026, with sell-by or best-by dates ranging from July 20 through August 17, 2026, News.Az reports, citing The Hill.
The affected eggs were distributed to foodservice providers and retailers in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, including Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana and Brookshire Grocery locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mississippi. The company said the recalled eggs may also have been sold through smaller retail outlets.

Consumers can determine whether their eggs are included in the recall by checking the product code printed on either the left or right side of the carton and comparing it with the FDA’s recalled product list.
The FDA said there have been no reported illnesses linked to the recalled eggs. Consumers who purchased affected products are advised not to eat them and should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Salmonella infections can cause symptoms including diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps, usually developing between six hours and six days after exposure. While most healthy people recover within a week without treatment, young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are at greater risk of severe illness and may require hospitalization.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, salmonella causes an estimated 1.35 million infections, 26,500 hospitalizations, and approximately 420 deaths in the United States each year.
