Mediation country Pakistan urged both the US and Iran to exercise restraint on Wednesday evening. “Pakistan urges all parties to uphold their respective commitments,” the country’s foreign ministry wrote in a statement, according to AFP.
The British prime minister says the past day has been “undeniably challenging” and emphasizes the importance of the parties returning to a ceasefire.
“It is incredibly important for the region and for the world,” said Keir Starmer, according to the BBC.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres wants the conflict to be immediately de-escalated, according to a statement from his spokesperson, AFP reports.
