Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces had shot down 635 Ukrainian drones during the overnight attacks.
In the Samara region, Ukrainian drones struck a Wildberries warehouse about 800 kilometres from Ukraine’s most advanced military positions inside Ukrainian territory, regional Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said.

Fedorishchev said authorities were still assessing whether there were casualties at the warehouse.
The strike is part of an expanding Ukrainian campaign targeting facilities deep inside Russia as Kyiv seeks to disrupt Moscow’s economic and energy infrastructure and weaken its ability to sustain the war.
Ukrainian forces have targeted around a dozen Wildberries facilities since July 18, according to Reuters. Wildberries plays a major role in Russia’s consumer economy and is often compared with Amazon.
The latest attacks also struck the neighboring Saratov region, where two people were killed when a drone hit a residential building in the city of Engels, Governor Roman Busargin said.
Civilian infrastructure was damaged in both Engels and the city of Saratov, according to the governor.
The two cities have been repeatedly targeted during the war. Saratov is home to a major oil refinery, while Engels hosts a Russian military airbase.
Russia’s overnight claims of 635 drones shot down point to the scale of the latest attack, although independent verification of the figures was not immediately available.
Ukraine did not immediately comment on the strikes.
The attacks mark another escalation in Ukraine’s efforts to take the war deeper into Russian territory, with commercial facilities, energy infrastructure and other economic targets increasingly coming under drone attack.
