Spain controlled Sunday’s bronze-medal game for much of the contest against a determined but ultimately outmatched German side. The hosts had reached the tournament’s semi-finals for the first time as a unified country.

Spain’s leading scorer, Iyana Martin, finished just one assist short of a double-double, recording 20 points and a game-high nine assists.
Germany managed to narrow the deficit to four points by halftime, but Spain tightened up defensively after the break, limiting the hosts to just 22 points in the second half to secure the victory.
Later Sunday, 11-time champions the United States will take on first-time finalists France in a rematch of the 2024 Paris Olympics gold-medal game, which the Americans won 67-66.
