According to a confidential note cited by the broadcaster, French intelligence has brought forward its assessment of when a potential major Russian attack could occur, with autumn 2027 now identified as a possible timeframe, Anadolu Agency reported.
The report said potential targets could include strategic infrastructure such as power plants and electricity grids, railways, telecommunications networks and drinking water facilities.

Alain Christienne, a former deputy director of French military intelligence, told France Télévisions that a hypothetical attack could involve an explosive-laden drone targeting a site linked to France’s defense industry.
Christienne said it could be difficult to establish Russia’s responsibility for such an incident and argued that France currently lacks the capacity to fully protect against such a scenario.
The report comes after French President Emmanuel Macron held a confidential meeting Friday with presidential candidates and political party leaders to discuss what he described as an intensifying Russian hybrid threat against France and Europe.
Macron said the government would prepare a plan to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive sites within the country’s defense industrial and technological base from potential drone and cyberattacks.
The French government has also asked regional prefects to establish security and defense teams bringing together local police, intelligence services, the military, education authorities, businesses and emergency services.
